Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the respiratory and digestive systems of tens of thousands of children and young adults. 

Our daughter, Moya, was diagnosed with CF in January 2005 at the age of 18 months.   While the initial shock of the diagnosis was difficult, after learning about the advances that organizations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) are making, we truly have hope that Moya will live a full and active live.

Moya is in first grade and is a very active girl.  She loves to bike and is now on a swim team. She loves to compete, and has participated in several races this past year, including her first triathlon.

As a way of encouraging her activity, as well as participating in racing and active events that we enjoy, we have decided to use these opportunities to promote awareness and fundraise for CF. 

We are so thankful for the countless people that have dedicated their lives to this cause.  This is only one small part of giving back to their efforts.  

As we stated, part of our efforts is to help raise money for the CFF.   

 Donations to the CFF are well spent as nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised is used to support its vital programs.  When the Foundation was established in 1955, children with CF were not expected to live long enough to attend elementary school. Due in large part to the CFF's aggressive investments in innovative research and comprehensive care, the predicted median survival age for people with this disease is now more than 37 years.

The Foundation is actively supporting more than 30 potential new treatments currently in development—that's more than in the entire history of the disease. Moya is currently part of the Denufosol study. 

Remarkable progress, but not good enough, as we continue to lose at least one life to CF every day. We need your help.
